What is Algo trading?
Simply put Algo trading (aka, Algorithmic – aka, Quantitative trading) is a systematic way of trading the markets over a long period of time based on certain pre-decided rules. For Eg: A simple rule would be Buy a stock at 20 days high breakout and Sell the stock at a 10 day low breakdown. This simple rule can be executed by a computer program across 30 different stocks, which is difficult for a human eye. The key to Algo trading lies in being discipline, being systematic and consistently following the rules.

The AlgoFront software has been designed to capture trends in the market. Hence, the software performs very well during trending markets. However if the markets are choppy / moving sideways for a sustainable period then the investments might run into temporary losses.
Which asset classes are traded by the AlgoFront software?
Currently the AlgoFront software trades Nifty and BankNifty futures in the NSE F&O segment. We do not support single stock trading owing to volatility and large undue news/events risks.
Is my investment money safe from regulatory perspective?
Your money is parked with one of the SEBI registered broker and Samssara does not take the money from you. Hence it is completely safe.
What is the minimum investment of capital to start on AlgoFront software?
Minimum capital requirement if Rs. 10 Lacs for Indian citizen / Indian entity and USD 20,000 for an NRI.

Hence, for all practical purpose – Samssara is a technology vendor and not a money manager – as the client runs the Algo from the brokers end based on Samssara technology advisory.

What is the risk and expected return on my Algo investment?
There is no minimum guaranteed return on the Algo product and return varies from client to client depending on asset classes traded, investment amount, broker chosen etc. However the investments in Algo’s designed at Samssara runs at 3:1 Reward:Risk ratio. Hence, if a client is ready to take a 20% risk on his capital – he can expect a return of 60% on his account (Not Guaranteed and can vary widely depending on the market conditions – please talk to the technical team at Samssara for a more detailed explanation!). Hence, before starting the Algo products are customized to a client’s requirement based on his risk profile and only then the Algo’s are started.
